hausfinde.de was born out of frustration — and a scam.
Started this project after losing time, money, and hope while searching for an apartment.
Instead of giving up, I decided to fix the problem that so many renters face.
1. The story: From being scammed to building a safer way to rent.
When I moved to Germany, I paid two deposits for apartments that didn’t exist. Twice the landlord disappeared. I wasn’t the first victim — and I knew I wouldn’t be the last.
That frustration sparked hausfinde.de. A place where trust isn’t assumed, it’s verified.
Real people, real listings, real protection.
2. Mission: Our mission is simple — trust first.
We’re building hausfinde.de so that no one has to experience what I did.
Every process — verification, escrow, and transparency — exists to make renting honest and stress-free.
We believe home should be the easiest part of moving, not the hardest.
3. Behind the name: Why “hausfinde.de”?
In German, Haus finden means “to find a house.”
hausfinde.de represents that idea — helping people find not just a place, but a secure start in a new city.
4. Vision & next steps: Starting in Hamburg — expanding across Germany.
The pilot is running in Hamburg first, then moving to Berlin and Munich in 2026.
Our long-term vision is to make verified renting standard across all of Europe.
Step by step, hausfinde.de will become the trusted platform for safe housing.
